Allah says: (By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love), therefore, the scholars are unanimously agreed that there is a close relationship between almsgiving and ward off affliction. Charity is considered one of the significant acts of worship with which a worshipper draws close to Allah, the Exalted, as it expiates sins and transgressions, removes worries, grief and affliction. Charity is a great worship that a Muslim performs with the intention of warding off calamity and seeking forgiveness from Allah. The Messenger of Allah says: “The wealth of a man will not diminish by Sadaqah (charity).” For this reason, we appeal to the benefactors to donate their alms to ward off calamities, for it is a healing of hearts, salvation from Hellfire, and a way to Paradise.
